Cooperation between RWTH Aachen University and Upper Austria’s research institutions
Aachen/UA. On Tuesday, Markus Achleitner, State Councilor for Economic Affairs, signed a memorandum of cooperation in the research with the RWTH Aachen University, in which Upper Austrian Research (UAR), Johannes Kepler University (JKU), the Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences (FH) and the Clusters are involved.
"We want to make Upper Austria more international. It is not enough to be at the forefront in Austria. We are in global competition. That is why we want to connect strong regions and promote internationalization", said State Councilor Achleitner, who is also responsible for research, during his two-day information trip to Aachen on 3 and 4 March.
Research institutions are to be linked for this purpose. Aachen is a center of competence in research and development and thus a preferred partner for Upper Austria's research institutions. For State Councilor Achleitner, the cooperation agreement is therefore an important milestone for Upper Austria.
The profile area Production Engineering (ProdE) bundles the strengths of the location Aachen in the field of production technology and aims to further increase the competitiveness of production science.
